Eine quantitative Bestimmungsmethode des Uracilgehaltes biologischen Materials im Nanogramm-Bereich mit Hilfe der Hochdruck-Flüssigchromatografie / A…

1974

Abstract A method is described for the estimation of the uracil content in biological materials by means of high-pressure liquid chromatography. Hydrolysis of the tissues and total liberation of RNA bases are carried out in 70% perchloric acid. Less than 1 mg of the materials are needed for analysis. A pre-purification of the hydrolyzates is carried out by anion-exchange chromatography. Recoveries are estimated by isotope dilution analysis with [2-14C] labelled uracil. The method is highly sensitive - about 6000 pmol of uracil content can at least be estimated quantitatively - and analysis time is short. In routine analysis a single sample needs 4 hours to be completed. When preparing sever…

Notizen: Unterschiedliche Desoxyribonuclease-Aktivitäten im Seminalplasma von Bullen/Different Deoxyribonuclease-Activities in Bull Seminal Plasma

1976

By means of the in situ assay of deoxyribonucleases in DNA-containing polyacrylamide gels after separation by micro-disc-electrophoresis different deoxyribonucleases are detectable in bull seminal plasma. There are two groups of acid deoxyribonuclease-activities with a pH optimum at pH 5.0, one with a pH optimum at pH 7.4 and an additional one with a pH optimum at pH 8.5.

1-Nitroindoline.

2000

In the title compound, C(8)H(8)N(2)O(2), the nitramino group is planar and only slightly twisted with respect to the indoline rings. The bridgehead N--C bond is slightly shorter than in typical secondary aromatic nitramines. The N--N bond has some double-bond character. The molecules are connected by weak C--H...O hydrogen bonds, forming chains parallel to the z direction.

1-Chloro-1,1-difluoro-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-(pyrrolidin-2-ylidene)propan-2-imine

2000

In the title compound, C(14)H(15)ClF(2)N(2)O, the Z configuration has been confirmed. The molecular structure shows an intramolecular N-H.N hydrogen bond [H.N 2.04 (6), N.N 2.709 (6) A and N-H.N 124 (5) degrees ]. This interaction could be responsible for the Z configuration.

Topical Anti-Inflammatory Lignans from Haplophyllum hispanicum Haplophyllum hispanicum

1996

The present paper reports the results of the methanol extract of Haplophyllum hispanicum Spach on single or repeated local 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol acetate (TPA) administration and in the oxazolone-induced contact-delayed hypersensitivity mouse ear edemas. Two topical anti-inflammatory aryl naphthalide lignans were isolated from the active fractions of the methanol extract. They were identified by spectroscopic methods, including 13C NMR and heteronuclear multiple bond correlation (HMBC), as diphyllin acetyl apioside and tuberculatin. The former was the most active on acute TPA edema with a ID50 of 0.27 μmol/ear

Über die kinetik und den mechanismus der biosynthese der cellulose in den höheren pflanzen (nach versuchen an den samenhaaren der baumwolle)

1966

Abstract The quantity of cellulose synthesized on growing cotton bolls and the corresponding degree of polymerisation have been measured as a function of time. It was found that the biosynthesis proceeds in two distinct stages, beginning with a slow process yielding the “primary” cellulose with a non-uniform degree of polymerisation of about 2000–6000 followed by a more rapid process yielding a large amount of “secondary cellulose” with a high and uniform degree of polymerisation of about 14000 (mol. wt. 2.3·106). During the second stage the degree of polymerisation is independent of time. It is shown that the two kinds of cellulose correspond to the primary and secondary cell wall. In orde…

DNA-binding studies of a series of novel water-soluble derivatives of 1,4-dihydropyridine

2018

Aim. to determine DNA interaction modes for a series of 1,4-dihydropyridines with different biological activities synthesized in the Latvian Institute of Or-ganic Synthesis. Methods. Affinity of the compounds to DNA was detected by UV/VIS spec-trometry and re-proofed by means of spectrofluorimetry, EBr extrusion assay, cyclic voltammetry and DNA melting. Radical scavenging was tested by electron paramagnetic resonance spectros-copy, peroxynitrite binding was monitored spectrophotometrically, protection of DNA against hydroxyl radical was determined by gel electrophoresis. Results. In a series of water-soluble monocyclic derivatives of 1,4-dihydropyridine with carboxylate groups in position-…

Phenolic Compounds in Needles of Norway Spruce Trees in Relation to Novel Forest Decline. II. Studies on Trees from Two Sites in Middle Western Germa…

1994

Abstract The content of several phenolic compounds in needles of 20- to 30-year-old Norway spruce trees (Picea abies) was measured using HPLC. The results of two forestry sites in middle western Germany are reported in this paper. They are part of a research programme on novel forest decline which was carried out in various regions of Germany. Distinct amounts of picein, catechin, piceatannol glucoside, and other phenolic compounds were detected in the studied spruce needles. Additionally, their contents changed in relation to damage. Some compounds, especially catechin, showed increased levels in the needles of the damaged trees compared to the undamaged ones. Here, the values for the unda…
